It's a collective pooping.
I would expect Sammons to be enthusiastic about it. It is good news.
Of course it's not a homerun but I'll allow a little hyperbole from the newly appointed chairman. I don't really need it to be unspun.
It's not just this story. It's most stories that get the negative spin.
It's just not what I'm used to in a weekly alternative. I lived in Knoxville for over a decade and read The Metro Pulse religiously. I don't remember ever feeling like they were pooping all over their city. They were the defenders of the City.
Unfortunately, there's not a lot of options. It's either The Flyer or the CA for general news.
I do also regularly read The Memphis Business Journal and The Memphis Daily News.

Even good news gets a negative spin in the Flyer.
Democrats nationwide have gotten a lot of mileage out of TN Republicans.
Why should the house even be wasting time on this kind of silliness in the first place? What is the point of being recognized by being placed on the consent calendar? It sounds like just more pomp and circumstance.
My BS alarm is going nuts right now reading the above comment.
