Re: “Quick Hits: Rudy's Extension, Tonight's Game

Chris, what kinda message do you think signing Rudy to an extension sends to OJ? A positive or a negative one?

Frankly, paying $10 mil a year to this bum is at least 2x what he's worth, no way I'd go more than 5 years/ 40 mil. I realize that probably won't get it done, but who cares? Do you really see another team breaking the bank for him next year?

Re: “The Iverson Rumor: Heisley Preparing to Make Mockery of His "Three-Year Plan"?

How 'bout the Iverson jerseys? A jersey with Memphis on the front and Iverson on the back? Ummm, I WANT ONE! And so will half the kids in Memphis!

Re: “The Iverson Rumor: Heisley Preparing to Make Mockery of His "Three-Year Plan"?

Chris, for all the concern about AI ruining team chemistry or stunting the "core's" growth (is that even possible on a 20-win team?), consider the fact that the "core" would play in front of a full house for the first time in years! How is that detrimental?

A $5 mil contract for a player of his caliber is a freaking gift from god - don't spurn it!

Re: “Heat Refute Beasley Story

Depressed, I think that's a fair deal for all involved - which probably means it won't happen!

I'm not a fan of Rudy Gay, but I worry about trading him in a contract year - if he was ever gonna play his ass off, it's this year. I say let him earn his next contract right here. If somebody's crazy enough to pay him $10 million per, he's yours...

Also, how come Tillery isn't getting killed over this? This is a fairly large screw-up. Am I off-base to think it's due to his general ineptitude?

Re: “Draft Post-Mortem: Quick Thoughts

I'd ask myself why is Riley trading Beasley? Giving up on him pretty quick, no? I assume it was for Thabeet, so that makes me feel a little better about the pick...

And Grizzly Adam, I wasn't saying that Carroll, Qrich, or Young could "replace" Rudy Gay, per se. Although Young might have the best shot. I am saying that Rudy better bring it this season. He's the softest player on the team, and if we're getting serious about toughening up then he's gotta get tough, too. I just think management sent a not-so-subtle message that if he wants to get paid, he better perform...

Re: “Draft Post-Mortem: Quick Thoughts

I think the Thabeet pick was more about keeping him outta OKC than how he fits our team. Face it, a core of Durant, Westbrook, Green, and Thabeet would have been formidable...

I just wish we would have applied the same principles to keeping Blair outta SA. We still could have taken Young at 27. Carroll better turn out to be really good - better than Blair at least...

And how about the bullseye on Rudy Gay now? QRich, Young and Carroll can all play 3. Anybody smell a Gay/Warrick trade for a decent 4?

Re: “Draft Notes: Tyreke Evans Workout, Harden/Thabeet Rumors

Great stuff, Chris - per usual.

If the Grizz must trade Rubio, they better pull off something more than just Kevin Love - that 6th pick HAS to be included, right?
