Did he drop it permanently or is it shelved for two weeks? I've read both...

Re: “State Won't Allow Zoo Trams in Old Forest

Thank goodness Citizens to Preserve Overton Park had the foresight to lobby for the creation of a State Natural Area!

Re: “Memphis Zoo Wraps Up 20-Year Master Plan

"A raised boardwalk is supposed to protect the natural flora of the ground." This sentence refers to Chickasaw bluffs, not Teton Trek. Also, Get Off Our Lawn is a subsidiary of Citizens to Preserve Overton Park.

Re: “UPDATE: Protestors Call For New Zoo Leadership As Parking Problems Persist

It's pretty frustrating to go to meetings at City Hall where everyone is at the table and everyone makes agreements/promises, only to have them undone again and again by Zoo leadership. Mr. Brady's email to Zoo members was a final straw. He is purposely undermining the process by refusing to cooperate.

Re: “UPDATE: Protestors Call For New Zoo Leadership As Parking Problems Persist

The Botanic Garden is not a public park. Overton Park is. The Botanic Garden sometimes allows cars to park in a field adjacent to the main property. That area is not a public greenspace. The Overton Park greensward was designed to be enjoyed by people, not cars. It is in the middle of the park. Using it as a parking lot is not only ruining it, it is affecting the overall enjoyment of the park.

The "Get Off Our Lawn" name is meant to be tongue in cheek.
