As long and Thabust, the Tanzanian wet dream, is gone I don't care if all they got was a piece of used chewing gum and some pocket lint (I would still think we got the better end of the deal). If they keep Shane, great, he is a hustler on both ends of the court and is a great face for the team in this city and around the league. If he goes, then maybe he is a better asset than a 7'5" Tanzanian that couldn't play dead much less pro basketball.
Oh, forgot to mention JD. I am very glad to see Joey logging some minutes. I saw Earl Baron starting for Phoenix a week or two ago in an injury situation. It is always good to see former Tigers playing on the big court.
We can only only hope Wallace is sawing on the tow line attached to Thabeet's lifeboat. I just hope we can get something of usable value for him. At this point Brian Cardinal looks like a gem. But, great effort in the win and I am glad to see the Grizz string together a couple of wins for the end of the year.
Heard from NBA.com today that the Grizz are shopping Thabust very hard. I hope so, he is useless. Also, a rumor floating that a good fit for Memphis would be a trade of Rnadolph and Mayo player for Vince Carter and Brandon Bass in Orlando. I am not too sure about that one, Vince is well on to the downhill side of his career and Bass has been mediocre to the point but VC would bring that high profile name to the Grizz.
They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31
Ren, you are now playing on the grandest stage of all and you never have to worry about being benched. We will always love, miss, and remember you bro.
I think it is a great idea......which means Heisley will hate it! Heisley is about winning if winning comes at the price he is willing to pay and no other way. If you want to make more money you have to increase the fan base. You do that by increasing the quality of the product on the floor not lowering it.
Re: “Breaking Down the Battier/Thabeet Trade”
Getting rid of Thabust was a have to move. Bringing Shane back was a very good move. You didn't have an unlimited purse and it wasn't like the Grizz were ever in the hunt for Melo anyway so Shane brought back some the of things the Grizz needed. He is still a great defender. And, Battier has always been known for the intangibles including being a lockeroom leader. I think that with the pieces that are in place and the run the Grizz have been on adding the stabilizing force of Shane might help the team not get too amped when playoff time comes. I hope they can resign Shane next season. He is one of those great basketball minds and all-around good people that you wanting retiring in your colors.
Go Grizz!
