Thanks, Chris. I really enjoy your Notebook entries. This upcoming season, I look forward to watching the Junk Yard Dog dive for loose balls, create havoc, and inspire his teammates with energy.
Are the Grizz pursuing Anthony Carter? What about Ramone Sessions?
Yes; I know. It is the summer league. However, I can't help but get excited. Thanks for the report.
L3E, I think that you make some excellent points. I would like to see the Grizz become more competitive. In short, we have been way undermanned.
If he is willing to come off the bench, I say consider giving it a shot. We need to be unequivocal that he will not replace Conley at the point or Mayo at the two, in the starting lineup. But a Conley, Mayo, Iverson, three-man rotation might be pretty cool, for a year. Good luck to Coach Hollins.
Perhaps, the Grizz are considering it an experiment, with a duration of one year. Then, if things don't work out, they can unload him in the last year of his two year contract. On the other hand, sometimes these questionable characters do seem to work out for teams and their fans. Examples include Latrell Sprewell in New York and Dennis Rodman in Chicago.
qdark23, I understand your frustration. After the exciting Hubie Brown era, Jerry West made terrible trades. Michael Heisley created a major distraction and put the team on hold when he tried to sell the team to a non-viable investor. And Mark Ivaroni and his teams were a disaster. You are a true fan to have endured all of that. However, consider hanging in there - at least keep an eye on things from afar. In a very short period of time, the change in the demeanor, effort, and function of the team under Lionel Hollins was encouraging. He seems to be a solid tactician, and he commands respect. Things may work out...
Re: “Iverson Tweets "Yes"”
Chris, with the addition of Zachary Randolph and, now, Allen Iverson, you will, no doubt, have a lot to write about this season. I guess that means that the Grizzlies will be more intriguing to watch. I tend to be an optimist, but both of these guys seem hungry to prove something.
