"Griz -3 on turnovers, -4 on offensive boards, and -7 on free-throw attempts." The lack of rebounding and deficit on foul shots is painful...Some teams fix these problems over the course of a few games, it's been a few seasons now for the Griz it seems.
Matt - when was the last time Gasol (Pau or Marc) was a defensive threat? To the casual fan, a comment like yours might go over well. To someone who reads the box scores and realizes how bad the Griz are out rebounded on a nightly basis and how the defense, not offense is the problem, your comment just looks angry and uninformed.
The Griz had a good draft. Fans need to come off their high horse and realize picks are made based on not only talent, but a teams needs. The Griz need a big defensive presence down low that can block shots and rebound. Thabeet will improve rebounding and has decent footwork. He doesn't foul and blocks shots. He will never be great offensively, but can be good. Young was a steal. Carroll's energy is needed, but we may regret passing on Ellington. All-in-all, it was a good night considering the overall weakness of the draft. Griz deserve some credit here.
