As long as you are willing to pay the increase county taxes on principal. But the vast majority of these people had a choice when they settled in the area of knowing what the annexation reserve was at the time they settled. So that choice cuts both ways.
Does the distinguishes gentleman from Lakeland realize that county taxes WILL go up too. And this it will be a tax increase on him as well. Same is true for Bartlett, Germantown, Collierville, Arlington, and Millington. At best it will be a wash for the de-annexed areas. Everyone else will get a tax increase. But I guess it's worth the price to "show Memphis".
Actually if values rise the tax rate DOES have to be recertified. Which was the original point of the law. Force governments to be transparent when prices were rising.
Comments are a poor yard stick. If you ever examined comment streams with "high" numbers you would see that there are very few unique users, but the same people arguing back and forth the same arguments. A 500 comment article might contain 50 different commenters.
