The true story of Michael Oher is so much more interesting and compelling than this trash. Like Schindler's List or Invictus it's a story told from the perspective of an "enlightened" member of the opposition. The character of Michael was a cipher. The annoying little brother could have been an animated bird. These are not real characters. This movie is about the burden of white East Memphians with money. What happened to Michael's friend at the beginning of the movie? Where did he go? I guess he wasn't much of an athlete. Must be tough being African American and a nerd at Briarcrest. Does Michael even like football? Does he know the physical and psychological risks of the game? He might have all the money he needs, but way fewer marbles and difficulty walking after the age of 35. What an incredible documentary this could have been.
There should be a statue of this Tuohy woman on the corner of Poplar and Ridgeway, preferably next to a bus stop, to serve as beacon to all the underprivileged and athletic young African American male children throughout the city!
