After having run eateries myself in years past, I know how hard the waitstaff works and how little they get paid. Christians should be the biggest tippers.
I heard a minister say from the pulpit a few years ago that he would never tip a waitress/waiter 15% because he gives God only 10%.
My children sneeked a peek at my tip I rendered at a family restaurant recently. Smart kids they are, they quickly calculated my tip to be over 40%. They commented that I was excessive, although that was not my intention..
"Did we or did we not receive good service? And what you like for your tip to be?" I explained that our kindness would not be forgotten. Our Christian kindness can open the door for our witnessing the love of Christ during our next visit.
Bill Gates and party ran up a dinner tab in excess of $30,000 on one occation. Bill paid 20% tip to the staff. Reverend Robt. Shuller and party grumbled loudly at the service and food they had at a restaurant they frequented, and left $0 tip to the staff.
Give as they deserve? Is that why Christ died for us, so that we would receive what we deserve?
