Re: “Video of Steven Askew Shooting Scene Released

Ok.Michael Williams,MPA union president, are you going to uphold this investigatory result of clearing these two officers? In addition, the Shelby County DA, who you encouraged people to support in her win in the last election should charge these officers with excessive force, even murder. Will you support that? I speak as a citizen of Memphis, fan of your talk radio show, and former Manassas High classmate and fellow band member. You've been VERY vocal on a number of politicl issues, and this, to me, calls for you to step up and do the right thing. Yes, I support the Memphis police forces, but this incident is a black-eye to those officers who strive to show integrity as they do their jobs!

Re: “The Problem with Kriner Cash

Don't try and look for some way to tarnish or leave some type of doubt about the acclaim received by BTW school. What does her suspension have to do with the school's award? Is the school system required to divulge personnel records of discipline at the media's demand? Now Ms. Roberts needs to tell us about every request to other area schools, that was not released to the CA when first asked to do so.

Re: “The Unions Go Public

As 24 year member of a collective-bargaining unit (union),I admit there's a lot of things that go on that are not proper. However,I'd not for one minute want to be without that protection. Unions are employees first line of defense against discrimination and harassment, and indecent working conditions. One person has a hard time fighting an employer, but collectively, that is where our power lies.

Re: “Isolated Incident

@midtwonclassic: Maybe the looks YOU are giving are more like "looking upside their heads". Sounds like you are reacting from a deep seated fear that you have inside. Granted, being convicted felons, they can make you uneasy having to work with/around them. Just stay on your toes and be civil but cautious! I do wonder, however, how Ms. Hogan could be getting promoted after so little time on the job.

Re: “More on the GOP's Voter Restriction Laws

Democrats, Progressives, Liberals, Leftists. Whatever label they choose to put on us, we need to out-organize these extreme thinkers and their efforts to keep people divided and money in the hands of the wealthy. The poor citizens in our city don't even have a voice in local or federal government. Hearing about the middle class problems is all well and good, but there is a very large group of citizens who live so far below the poverty line and my President (God help him) won't even mention the word "POOR"!! Believe it or not, this situation is one thing that drives high property crime rates as well as other criminal behavior. PEOPLE WANT JOBS! We don't want to keep making the penal system and its affiliates rich off the backs of poor folks.

Re: “More on the GOP's Voter Restriction Laws

I've seen NO proof of voter fraud across this country, that would warrant such a massive effort to suppress voter turnout. Thank you Bruce, for helping to expose this, at any cost effort, to prevent a repeat of 2008 (OBAMA).

By the way, Memphis didn't really see, in my view, as much rejuvenation as it did under Willie Herenton. Ridding this city of so many housing projects, downtown, Autozone Park, Memphis Grizzlies, etc.
