Gave it a try a few nights ago. Perhaps they're still settling in, but the food & presentation seemed amateurish. The wife had the Saviori pizza and I had the brisket. I've made better pizza crust in my bread machine. It lacked elasticity & had a floury flavor indicative of underdevelopment. Disappointing considering the venue & price. The brisket was fairly well put together, the tomatillo sauce actually fit with the dish, but whoever chopped the brisket didn't bother trimming the fat. Both orders were plated on a perfectly flat dish, which is fine for a pizza, but totally inappropriate for the brisket hash - I spent more time sliding it around the plate than eating it. If they're not going to change the plate, perhaps they could include some bread to help the diner get the food onto the fork. I'll give it another try, but I'm leery.
Fair is fair. Visited again 10/20/14 and they must have heard the critics. All the beer prices are now $7 a half or $13 a full litre. Not great, bit better than they were.
Well, I see they have helpfully removed the beer prices from their site (they were there recently when I checked) so now I can't point you there. Probably did it because of the very discussion we're having. Nearly every critique I've heard about the place mentions their beer prices. Considering the places serving craft brew just down a few doors, it's a little high. I love German beer, but their prices are higher than the average litre price at Oktoberfest.
Actually, it's $8 for a mug half that size, Oak. That's a litre mug, which at Schweinehaus will run you $15-16.
Reading the comments, especially the first half...sounds like an echo chamber. I'd use a different term that's apropos, but I'd probably get poofed.
If I didn't know better, I'd guess that the sudden influx of new commenters was from some sort of astroturfing effort by a particular campaign.
It probably shouldn't have, but Tom, that made me laugh out loud. Spot on.
OTP, I don't know where you were, but there was plenty of public disgust and outrage over the former Southaven mayor's financial misdeeds.
