Am I the only person who thinks the true threat to sign Conley next season would be the Knicks? The oft alluded to plan for the Knicks after signing Amare was to go get Melo and Tony Parker. They do have Raymond Felton on a short term contract but with Parker getting an extension I would think that the Knicks would set their sights on Conley as a viable replacement. I haven't looked at their cap situation but I could see them offering a contract bigger then the 5yr 40mil offer Conley got. In fact didn't the Grizz only start negotiating with Conley once Parker was extended? Unlike last off season with Gay, this off season there isn't going to be a clear cut number 1 pg out there. I've said all last year that Conley was better than Brooks and so far this season it is looking like that is the case. So there isn't a Lebron type player in front of Conley so the market for him would have been bigger than people think. Also unlike the media comenting on this deal the GM's of teams actually watch games. Just my three cents.
Replace Batum with Babbit once it get's past aug 6th
What about partnering with the Blazers that sends Conley to the Blazers for Rudy Fernandez and Luke Babbit. Fernandez could be your starting 2 and Babbit is a more versital player then Hansboro who could play the 3 or the 4
I'm not sure if this will work with the T'wolves current cap situation, but if the grizzlies were to trade Z'Bo for Al Jefferson they would not only save around 4 mil bringing their cap number down to 58 mil but they would also get a trade exeption for the difference between the contracts they could use to trade for a player right?
