You may be right........... JH was accused of that in Miami. :-)
We are now asking questions about his leave.........paid by us and working for Cash!!
They just keep raking it in!!
Do you really think they can pad the test scores for 3 yrs in a row? They were an A for 3 yrs before. The Super says she is an excellent principal and knows how to turn around a school. There were other schools under Hernandez's plan that dropped too!
The Principal attributes it to Hernandez's curriculum and says it was not a good fit for the school.
They are going back to teaching like they were and I guess we will find out after this years scores.
Just saying.................. Good Luck Memphis!
I am one of those Palm Beach County parents and if it weren't for TINT who knows where we would be.
Form your own grassroots organization, get on Facebook and join TINT and open your eyes to Education in the US. You would be surprised with what's out there and you will also become informed.
Read Diane Ravitch's book, The Life and Death of the American Educational System. She was one of the people who worked on Bush's NCLB and was all for it and now has changed her mind. I believe she was the Asst. Secretary of Education in Washington. She will tell you they are all wrong!!
Good Luck Memphis, you will surely need it!
All Hernandez believes in is Teaching to the Test. Everyone that took say, Algebra 1 had to be on the same page every day and the curriculum didn't slow down if they didn't get it. This went on in the whole district whether you had a Gifted child, a "regular" child or even an LD child that had an IEP!
TINT was created by a parent because of what went on here............. They now have over 11,000 people and have joined with other Facebook pages that concern Education in Florida and the US.
In Palm Beach County we mobilized and fought against Hernandez and the Super actually backed down. We are now fighting other issues, one was already Vetoed by our Governor, SB6, which was paying teachers based on one test score, the almighty FCAT..............
I suggest you look at TINT, Testing is not Teaching on Facebook, read about everything that's going on and mobilize yourselves. You can beat this, we proved that Teachers and Parents together can win!
