Re: “The Death of Suburbia

Ammusing comments. African-American, living in a sizable home in South Memphis, purchased adjoining lots to expand perimeter, inexpensive purchases due to "undesirable demographics", Navy Federal Credit Union financed (local banks redlined). Within cycling distance of my job, easy commute for my spouse (West to East instead of the molasses of East to West). Savings on home allow for parochial and independent school educations. Our neighbors aren't threatening (I guess its a "Black thing"). All of our kids played club soccer. You don't have to spend money, if you're a middle class African-American, chasing someone elses version of the American dream. Pursue your dream on your terms.

Re: “Nashville’s Silly Season

Back to reality. What meaningful, productive legislation has the state legislature accomplished in the past three years? Culture warrior stuff doesn't count.

Re: “Kelsey, Harris: Bipartisan Effort on Aquifer Issue

Unfortunately from the looks of the incoming cabinet and congress, the environment along with the "ilk" you detest will all be wacked.

Re: “"I Love You Too, America": Memphians Prep for Life Under Trump

Pay close attention to the cabinet picks, and their preexisting policy positions, of the President-elect. Then think about these people in the aggregate. Long term. Hopefully, the bureaucracy will be able to minimize the damage.

Re: “The Perilous Fight Over Colin Kaepernick

Food for thought: Is there much of a stretch between the actions of Mr. Kapernick (a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.) and the actions of John Carlos, Tommy Smith, Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, or Jim Brown. in their prime?
