What's so radical about any of this? Another boring as hell show for the blue hairs and wealthy supporters on Shady Grove Rd.
The art scene in memphis has potential, but it's not being realized because our two primary museums are boring. But I'm sure if they had shows featuring some real young radicals like Trecartin or Olaf Breuning it might hurt the piggie bank. The stodgy old guard would be aghast. There'd be whispers and gossip in the hallways at Memphis Country Club.
A lot of young artists want to leave and go to Brooklyn or Berlin, because it's a more progressive scene. Want to see interesting art? Go to New Museum in NY.
Come on fellas, you know your field. You're smart. Get a little more daring. Step on out there...
I hate banks and just the thought of going through the mortgage process is enough to keep me from buying anything.
