In Copenhagen, Denmark, in the 60ties (!) one, initially very controversial bike path project, had small businesses very worried about fewer car parking spaces in favour of a bicycle path. After the implementation of the bike path it became very clear that it only promoted business in that area and it is a shining example! Today in Copenhagen, many local businesses make sure to have good parking facilities for bicycles, as they know it increases business.

After the implementation of the bike path it became very clear that it only promoted business in that area and it is a shining example.
Today in Copenhagen many local businesses make sure to have good parking facilities for bicycles, as they know it increases business.
The example mentioned was in the 60s and today Copenhagen has one of the worlds most amazing bicycles cultures in the world - something to aspire to, no? Time to think ahead, don't you think?
