The lack of sizzle in the ballot is suppressing turn-out. There is no contested governor's primary or senate primary (truly- is Carr or Flinn really going to make noise in Shelby County against Alexander). The most interesting race is Brown vs. Weirich and that is more echo than actual excitement. Wilkins v. Cohen has picked up, but Wilkins push IMO is coming too little, too late. A long ballot, a Mayor's race that's really polite, a sheriff's race that is very quiet, and a lack of motivating story lines just isn't bringing voters out.
