Re: “Fish On!

Again we drink the Corporate Koolaide of local disenfrancisement. A path that's been well tread these last couple of decades in Memphis with the blessings of the mayor,The Flyer and others well connected enough to profit from the hemorrhaging of Civic bond Issues. Our only hope is to replace the Judas Goat City officials with local leaders who can lead for the advancement of a homegrown Indivigual enterprise economy. Untill then we get less than living wage jobs and the highest proporty taxes in the state to go with the highest bankruptsy rates. At least we get a riverfront attraction for folks who are the hardest hit by the current ressession . Blue Collar workers. Did the closing of most every mega bookstore in town not sink in ? The superstore has gone the way of the mall of Memphis. Vote for Scott Banbury and others who would use such funds for start up capital for small firms and the restoration of commons to the common folk ! What did happen to County Farmers Market, Fairground Flea market Space and any other bootstrap operation subsidys? Perhaps with some help folks could afford to pay their taxes !

Re: “One More Hurdle

Behind the Ford Machine. No chance for mention of those who whould take on the issues that are the reasons for the decline of Memphis. I wish we had a progressive paper in Memphis! I think grass roots politics might suprise the media whores in Memphis.
