The "new" "expanded" parking lot is woefully inadequate. I dropped by last evening to shop, and following much traffic in circles, could not find a place to park. I felt lucky to escape the parking lot and head to the Plaza Kroger where I was in and out in a jiffy. I used to shop at the old Union Kroger all the time. Maybe one day I'll actually be able to park and go inside the new one.....
Lee was such a great guy, and wonderful friend. I'm going to sorely miss him. He was the only person who knew how to make my favorite sandwich correctly, and was always ready to discuss current happenings in the Bluff City with all their implications. Farewell, Lee. We're going to miss you, my friend!
Unlike Fox News, the Washington Post and NY Times lean toward the middle where truth and journalistic integrity lie. It's just that those on the fringe right don't much like the truth and complain vociferously when exposed to it. Kinda like a peanut butter allergy...
St. Paddy's Day and Hairy Bikers.... What is oil and water? How do these two relate to each other and what were they thinking??
Yes, indeed, Minnie Ripperton was sublime. Chick Corea and Return to Forever, a quartet, was mind blowing. Chick, Stanley Clarke, Lenny White and Al DiMeola, who had been with the band four days, it was said, and played much of the incredibly complex material from charts, were unfathomably tight, and did I say complex? Whew!!! I remember, too, that Weather Report played there, as did so many great local and national acts. It was indeed a fun place to play or listen. Thanks for a memorable Rant, Randy, as well as killer commentary on the show itself. My hat's off to you and Melody, and everyone else who "lived" the Square. May its successor honor the original Square's legend.
