I also disagreed with Steve Mulroy's vote on Planned Parenthood, but on other issues he has been a staunch defender of Democratic party principles. Unfortunately, he is term-limited and can't run again. I very much support his plan for redistricting the commission into single districts. I don't see how anyone can argue against it on grounds of representation. The other plans are simply, as others have noted, incumbent protection plans. The smaller the district, the more interaction that commissioner can have with his or her constituents.

Just a note--the appeal of Chancellor Goldin's decision to dismiss the August 2010 lawsuit was also dismissed by the Appeals court some weeks ago. Myra Stiles
