There is a lot to protest about. The black community has a tougher path for a myriad of reasons. Many are self inflicted and others are not. Those police officers that shoot and kill for right or wrong purposes have much more responsibility than others. Personally, in this day and age I would never want to be a policeman on the front lines and I think you can look for their numbers to decline and policing to get more difficult and crime to go up.
That does not mean that changes should not take place, because they should. But behavior still goes back to childhood, parenting, schooling, discrimination, economics, perceived and real indignations, and a host of other things.
Body cameras are a must. That one thing will be a big start to correcting some of the crimes by the police and populace. Black Lives Matter - that would be the first thing on my list!
This sounds like a good summation of this poor trait of Terry "The Bully" Roland.
In the end, I agree Memphis will ignore or bankrupt and re-organize its responsibilities. In the very end, I would expect the debt to be divided in 2 or 3 ways, not necessarily in equal percents.
I am a little surprised at the comments here as I thought the Flyer had more traditional support. Jim Coley seems to be doing his job, voting what he thinks is right and supporting some of his constituents. It would be hard to ignore Bellevue Baptist. So the Supreme Court ruled 5 to 4, I agree with some Jim's thoughts in the article and as to what is probably still the majority opinion in underlying currents of thought in the community. The Bible (God – he spoke through others) didn’t talk about Adam and Bob, but about Adam and Eve.
It is like seeing an old friend.
A PUNK AND A PIG.
I agree with that.
This seems to be another case of the high and mighty doing what they want to do with no thoughts of true consequences.
