I remember going with my friends to Jump for Joy on a typical scorching hot Memphis summer day and having a backflip contest, where you did as many consecutive backflips as you could before careening off the thing to land on your face if the pea gravel, only to jump back on and finish your ten minutes. We were about 10 or 11 I think.
The late Charles Crump was an attorney and represented the Trop in some manner. (at least I seem to remember that from a visit I made there with him and his son Steve crump who is a noted local woodworker and furniture designer) Anyway, Steve may even have a photo somewhere.
