I have served in the Navy for over 20 years and have been to many ports of call, including Cartagena. No matter were you go, ladies of the night are readily available. Yes, I know hard to believe. I never hired a young lady, cause to be honest, there were other things that I would rather spend my money on.
I have seen this many times, some Americans fail to comprehend that they are in a different country and different rules apply. Whatever you view on prostitution is, bottom line the lady was offering a service and did not receive proper payment. Should the agents lose their jobs? It is a fact that we, public servants, are held to a higher regard. I can't do certain things just cause I am in the military, that ordinary citizen are more that entitled to do. Does it bother me? No, because I knew what I signed up for and I am proud to serve my country.
So, chalk it up as a valuable learning experience and move on.
