Re: “The Municipal-Schools Bill, 2013 Version, Passes Both Houses of Tennessee General Assembly

Norris used a lot of political capital to get this "oh so clever" bill passed. But he will be a hero to his constituents, even after it is struck down by Judge Mays on Equal Protection grounds.

Re: “Letter From the Editor

Wink, wink, nod, nod schools legislation: Pass it this year, repeal it the next before non-Shelby cities try to start their own schools. As if this chicanery will pass right over Judge Mays' head. The "Muslim foot bath" is a perfect symbol for this pack of boneheads.

Re: “The Rant

Mr. Rall assumes that Romney will run a competent campaign. So far, he has not. And recent events only further demonstrate his inability to close the sale. Obama doesn't need big new ideas when his opponent is drenched in flop sweat.

Re: “Penn State: It Sure Looks Like a Death Penalty

The education of students is the central role of the university. Football is only a game. Penn Staters, from the top down, placed that game, and the players and coaches, above the central purpose of the school and the welfare of children. Don't feel sorry for them.
