The writer pose some very good points. One was the length of the merger, the board, school buildings vacant by the merger! All of this should have thought through prior to any decision made, now it is a little to late to try and rebuild a system that need just a few tweets to improve academic performance of students, I guess that is unimportant and not the goal, it is just a unified school district, shame students was not the Intended focus!
This quick process to fund a unified school board without plans and agreements prior smells of hidden agendas and deals, promises made before the public would realize what was happening, we the public may never the details but in my opinion, this a push to redistricting schools, and use county wide taxpayer dollars for others political gains, a full investigation is warranted Memphis does not Al Sharpton but people who are like minded and what the best possible school system for all children!
