Suggestion....Why not dispatch a few policemen to New Orleans and learn how they control crowds much more numerous and sometimes more rowdy than what we have here on Beal Street. During Mardi Gras for instance you can hardly turn around if you are in the French quarter. Bourbon Street is a nightmare. Police, uniformed and not are just seconds away. The police hustle the unruly, drunk, obnoxious and otherwise problematic away in a heartbeat. As well trained as our police are I still think there is something to be learned from a department who has wrestled with this problem for decades. Just saying
How about a flyover starting about a 1/4 mile back. Could be built alongside the existing road and probably cut down the closing time to months .
