I grew up in BING-HAMP-TON or THE HAMP.I've seen a lot of changes from dell crest apt.,lester townhouses,and various apt.complexes being torn down. To The Lester Community Center,The Police precinct,the Sam Cooper express and that big church being built. Binghampton as a community of people changed as well. Crime does still exist,but not nearly as bad as the 70's and80's. I remember when someone got killed or shot every weekend. Drugs were being sold all over Binghampton.Gangs were highly feared. The status of those days has been greatly reduced,although a bad element still exist.I am a product of Binghampton...it true what they say. Whatever don't will make you strong...Binghampton Strong....
