Re: “Shelby County Prosecutor Censured by Tennessee Supreme Court

Tom Henderson has been around much longer than Ms. Weirich and he has engaged in this unethical behavior for years. The tragedy is that Ms. Weirich knows of his questionable behavior and instead of firing him as an example for all other Asst. A/Gs, she has promoted him to teach new Asst. A/Gs the way to try cases. By allowing him to remain on the A/G's staff, she gives tacit approval to this unethical behavior. We had a chance to replace her in the last election but instead of focusing on her unethical and her staff's unethical behavior, we reduce the election to name calling, Joe Brown is a "clown." obviously, we get what we want, a corrupt Attorney General who promotes and protects a corrupt staff. There is no telling how many cases have been compromised by unethical behavior. There is no telling how many serial rapist at large because the rape kits were never tested for DNA. There was an article in Sunday's C/A making this eminently clear. This perp raped woman after woman and police department and A/G's office failed to take the steps necessary to apprehend the rapist so he continued to rape women for years before he was finally apprehended. We have a General Session's Judge who has repeatedly drugged women and assaulted them, but do we hear a peep from the Attorney General's office? Of course not. Its politically expedient not to charge this assailant so Ms. Weirich sets back and does nothing. This is what we call "Our Attorney General?" Since she was re-elected by a wide margin of votes, I suppose the citizens of Shelby County approve this kind of corruption.
