AMEN "nobody".....and don't let Nash1 fool you. I live here in Nashville and there isn't a person you ask around here that isn't sick to their stomach about this IKEA thing. You would think that everyone's mother got shot. (and they might before the week ends with our soaring crime rate) What this boils down to is that Nashville's over inflated ego took a major hit and they don't know how to take it without pouting like a 2 yr old. And as far as that "proposed" 60 story condo goes.....it's being developed by the same developer that proposed Signature Tower a few years back and we see where that is rising from the skyline. (never even got a construction fence built for it) I wish we were more like you guys. More restoration and re-use of old buildings like the Tennessee Brewery. We tend to tear stuff down no matter what and build new, bland shit. Congrats from this Nashvillian on your IKEA and I will be there when the doors open!! Yeah, and that $1.2B plant that was set to open in Middle TN has been shut down for good. I can't imagine the state incentives that went into that debacle we'll never see again.
As bad as you may think that is, try living in Nashville, where we get our brush and "excess" picked up only once a quarter! There is a pile in my front yard by the street that has been there since the end of March.......and will be there until the first week of June.
Awesome cause and a great time!
Hey Mid TN guy, you're nuts to think that the only "crazy" we have around here is Ketron! Mae Beavers, Diane Black, etc.....we have all of the crazies in this crazy state!!
