Josh actually isnt that bad of an Xs and Os coach. His problem is his stubborness and arrogance. He's prepared for this his entire life. Even Ray Charles can see the adjustments that he needs to make on a game by game basis. I think he over committed to this senior class and he rode with them come hell or high water. We have won all the games we won with him as a coach for one reason only...when we were in CUSA we simply recruited better talent! Since we were more athletic and skilled than every team we faced, we simply overwhelmed them. But now we are facing our peers...and they have similar talent.
We have for years been one of the deepest teams in the country, but he (Josh) is so stubborn he insists on using a 7-8 man rotation when we can clearly go 10-12 deep on the bench. YOU DONT BENCH ALL AMERICANS JOSH! thats why there is drama and confusion on his team.
Kuran Iverson, Damien Wilson and Dominic should have gotten playing time this year add these 3 to your 8 man rotation and we overwhelm most teams we face.
Stop playing people out of position like sending our 6-4 shooting guard who is also the best acting point guard we have to the PF position. (that four guard lineup was a bad experiment) but Josh's arrogance wouldnt let him change (even at the cost of losing).....People say we had no size....but our bench riders were 6'6" (wilson) 6'9" (Iverson) and 6'10"(woodson) at their correct positions thats plenty of size....but noooooo Pastner plays our 6'7" SG/SF (nick king) at PF (along with crawford) and benches the rest....
How about this.....when the subs come in.... we go with wilson at SG....Iverson at SF and Woodson at C leave in one of your Senior guards to run the point.....and pellom at PF....now we have a PG ranging from 6-1--6-4, a SG at 6-6, a sf at 6-7 (king) or 6-9 (iverson) , a PF at 6-8 (pellom) and big woodson in the middle.....THAT IS SIZE! WHAT TEAM COULD SHOOT OVER THAT ZONE???
Its all about simple adjustments to win.....no one on the team would complain about 15-20 minutes a game if we were winning! But Pastner is always trying to prove a point....even at the risk of losing.....its silly and immature.
