Shady backdoor politics! Let's vote these people OUT next go around. Save our greensward and our park!
Sounds like the typical pushback you get from unionized businesses when competitors threaten their age-old business models. Do some kind of regulations need to exist on these new ride share companies? Maybe. But as a frequent Uber user, I like it much better than traditional taxis. Especially in Memphis where they are slow as Christmas to respond unless you're a drunk tourist on Beale St.
The gist of it is: Uber and Lyft are taking business away from the traditional taxi companies because their customers like their services better. Period.
