Jeff, I did cut and paste the link from the Tennessean, and I consider it a compliment that you would consider my post as 'cutting and pasting', when the fact of the matter is this, I am aware of the status of the ACA, I live in the real world with real employees, I report what I think .
Mia, I truly appreciate your response to my post, but, the ACA was 'government driven.' That's why it did not work.
Those 'poor, poor' Democratic elected officials who are in the minority in the state House and Senate are whining, as usual because the majority of Tennesseans are not buying their free snake oil. They are refusing to admit to what is happening before their very eyes. Obamacare is on life support and is imploding/collapsing within itself. Republicans were smart to not get the state in debt with Insure TN which was based upon a lie.
If a new, conservative administration wins next year, a more affordable, market-driven, form of healthcare will be available for people who can afford the current high insurance premiums and additional funds will be block-granted to the states to care for those who cannot afford it.
It is no accident as to why Republicans are in the majority in Tennessee. No matter, any objections, the majority of the people are voting conservative, except for in the two major districts which are suffering financially.
I was in attendance at that event. I was blown away by what I was hearing from people who see the world as they want it to be and not as it really is! Jeeze!
Smear job! Shame on the Memphis Flyer, and the idiots who are willing to suspend commonsense to fall for this hoax.
I hope George Flinn gets the job because he has first-hand experience with running campaigns. He knows how to build coalitions and he knows most of the candidates personally; at the local, state and federal levels. He is very smart and very dedicated.
George Flinn respects diversity and since Jackson Baker's article about the SCRP's convention, posted on Monday, March 30, 2015, stated that: "Yes, this impressive turnout of several hundred was virtually all-white..." I believe that George Flinn will help to expand the Republican 'tent!' Jackson Baker is only the messenger and he reported what he saw.
I have gotten to know George Flinn, and he appears to be comfortable with all types of people. He will make people feel welcome and get them involved, thus, helping to change the perception of the 'all-white.' image of the Republican Party. SEC members, we need George Flinn as the Republican Party's state chairman.
You have gained my respect, Mr. Smith (of course, you already had it). This is an awesome, courageous, commonsense article. Thank you.
This case is being investigated by the U.S. Justice Department. IMHO, I think justice would better be served if we wait for the truth to be revealed. More importantly, Memphis has been declared the #2 most dangerous city in America. We've got some housekeeping to do at home. http://www.forbes.com/pictures/efel45mde/memphis-tenn/
