For AC to say he wouldn't participate in future without being able to essentially make rules himself was very presumtuous. It was a very high handed statment and did not reflect the mindset of someone who was asking for a chance to serve the voters. In fact it alludes to another "King Willie" in the making. With a field of 28 candidates the debate should not be limited to 3or 4 participants as AC might have wished. It was more of a question and answer session than a debate and Mongo had every right to take part. What you aren't told here is that it took an act of the FCC to get him in the so called debate. I bet that ignorant Webb woman who couldn't answer the simplest of questions did not have to go through all that.

I am voting for Brian Kelsey because we do not need to add more debt to our economy. Liberal Democrats believe that spending more of our tax dollars will help our economy, but as the Obama administration has proved, not many jobs have been created through the stimulus money. Our country is now in debt, and we are devaluing the dollar. You cannot spend your way out of a recession.

With the vote in of Joe Ford we get is a statement that says its just fine to break the law and live in a district other than the one you represent, its ok to just decide you don't want to live in your home anymore and just "Let the bank take it back", its dandy to be in debt and can't manage your personal finances, its all someone elese fault and EVERYBODY does it, and then expect to manage the finances of the county.

Its just Memphis being stuck on stupid ALL OVER AGAIN !!

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Memphis is utterly doomed to failure and deserves to be flushed down the crapper.

Here'a ANOTHER thing for you to chew on:

THE BUFFOON PUPPET WINS

It is 5:03 and the foolish Shelby County Commission has just selected a buffoon and a puppet to be the new county mayor, ignoring the county's call for a truly qualified county mayor.

Joe Ford is the new county mayor after an under the table deal that will require fumigation of the entire Shelby County Building.

What this means is that Harold Ford Sr. will be pulling the strings on his puppet brother from Florida. Harold Sr. is really the new Shelby County mayor.

Smart City Memphis... It ought to be Dumb Ass City Memphis.

Hoodsville, USA.

I know I'm supposed to be outraged and angry about this, but I'm having a really hard time working up the bile. I don't know Joe Ford, but he's never been a firebrand like Harold, the money he owes is nothing but a distraction, and his son is a straight-up class act. I can't figure how the next ten months are going to be the apocalypse that people are making them out to be. I always thought Joe was the exception to the rule when it came to the Ford Family.

This all reminds me of how just a few months ago, Herenton was playing Cassandra over Lowery becoming interim mayor. In the end, nothing that was predicted about that affair came true. I think Joe Ford will do just fine.

The tickets were your vote. If you bought ten tickets you could vote ten times. Not a real indicator, and as candidates' staff bought tickets well..... People came and ate, met the candidates, and then most went home to watch the game before they spoke. I stayed, but wanted to hear them and talk to them before I voted. I would have cast "undecided" anyway because I wanted to corner them and ask "Are you going to continue to be a Democrat after you're elected?" and "What is your opinion about the public option?" among other questions.
I, for one, am tired of being told "Vote for me" and then the candidate comes out against my interests as Creigh Deeds did in Virginia. At another meeting, a local Democrat, who is planning to run to try to take his seat back, in a question and answer session, stated he was against a public option. Then don't expect me to support you!

Okay, the vote count was 149. Even if there were only 50 or 60 people in the room when the candidates were speaking, many more came early and then left to watch the Vols. Doesn’t seem fair to discount the early voters. Sounds like, once again, Roy just out-worked and out-organized the other candidates.
PS- Pretty sure Kyle bought 10 tickets as well…

This looks like a gang hideout to me. I am calling CRIME STOPPERS to close this place down. I am with Shea Flinn, we need to move these types of places onto President Island. This is a gateway activity. It starts with ping pong, then dice, then you hit rock bottom and find yourself on the city council. Pretty soon you are wandering Channel or Harbor Drive on President's Island looking for trouble. Give peace a chance and do it for the children.
