      <![CDATA[After visiting the Natural Bridge Zoo in Virginia when doing a protest/demo there last Saturday, I am heartsick about the conditions the lone elephant ASHA has to endure. She has all of 1 1/2 acres of fenced land when she is NOT working which means being confined to a very small ring-like enclosure, standing for hours in one place waiting for people to take rides on her.

      <![CDATA[The Elephant Sanctuary is a fraud. They are not a true sanctuary as they do not accept all elephants, they will not accept males.

      <![CDATA[The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee stands as a beacon of enlightened elephant management, standing in stark contrast to the outdated mindsets perpetuating deprived and abusive living conditions for these creatures in many zoos and circuses. Elephants' survival worldwide will only be accomplished by successfully achieving a shift from the "We're up here, they're down there" paradigm to the paradigm perhaps best articulated by te late naturalist, Henry Beston who said "Animals are not brethren and they are not underlings.
