<![CDATA[The indisputable facts are that Ethridge & Associates, L.L.C.’s poll was the only poll which showed that Willie Herenton would win by a significant margin. His poll more accurately predicted the spread between the top two candidates (5 points) than did either the Rasmussen poll (1 point) or the Yacoubian poll (3 points).

<![CDATA[I am a Republican and the nomination of John Willingham was a stupid, stupid thing for those "leading" my party to do. Anyone who thought it was a good thing to do clearly was not thinking or isn't capable of thinking.

<![CDATA[>>You can bet the Shelby County Republican Party.... is doing some hard thinking, if it is actually possible for them to think. You had written a reasonably insightful column discussing the election and pre-election polling.

<![CDATA[The final Rasmussen poll was in line with Yacoubian's poll, with fewer undecideds, who all seemingly broke for Herenton when it appeared Morris couldn't win. There is always underreporting in a survey; and it is plausible that underreporting concealed some black Herenton votes all the way to the wire.
