If a man produces enough testosterone that he can be a world class powerlifter, more than likely his body is suited for it. Meanwhile the guy who juices up more than likely was made to be a skinny beanpole. The thing is after the 'roids, he's a beefed up berseker with breasts.

Ask a female close to you going through menapause what it's like? Men suffer from many of the same symptoms if not worse, however, for them to be treated they have to endure this type of stereo typing, as "dopers," because the only hormone they need is testosterone. It doesn't have to be given like a body builder; just replace what is naturally lost so they feel human again.

It relieved most of my symptoms and I no longer had the fluid but I have no cartalage at all. My doctor had told me then that I would not be able to walk in five years...that was in about 1995...I am still walking but no running or tennis for me anymore...knee replacement is looming so you must keep me informed as to the whole surgery procedure and your progress. I am scared.

16,000 people participating in a sport is not news? 16,000 people who have trained on their own time, money and sweat should be omitted from media coverage? Just because we are not professional athletes does not mean we shouldn't be excluded from the newspaper. Memphians should get encouraged that this city is getting fit! You try running a 26.2 mile race for St. Jude and not think about about all the kids being treated there that may not get the chance to ever run a race. Maybe with a new mayor, we can get a new attitude about the things that are actually positive in Memphis instead of focusing on the negative all of the time. The St. Jude marathon weekend brings in so many participants- many from out of town. At least publish their names in a paper for finishing a 26.2 mile race!

The papers - including this one - should absolutely make a big deal out of the marathon. Its a big deal; draws lots of out of towners, gets great press as a good marathon around the conntry and it deserves a major spread in the paper. Most cities' papers do special sections, etc. and at a minimum list the finishers. Course, the city as a whole should make a bigger deal of the marathon. Banners downtown, encouraging folks to come out and watch, etc. As the for the Komen race, no they shouldn't list those finishers but a nice wrap up article would be nice. No matter how many years its gone on, a gathering of 16,0000 diverse people in this town to exercise and raise money for a good cause is news.

The half marathon sold out after the St. Jude press release on which this info was based. The 5k and family race are still open (as of 11/6). Publishing marathon and Komen finishers are different things.

If it doesn't have a Ford or a Herenton in it, then its not news. Try promoting something that is positive for the Community. Chicago brings out 1,000,000 fans for their marathon-maybe Memphis does need to get the word out. More people come from out of town for the St Jude Marathon than any Grizzlies game. There is a lot more in the stories and coverage than just the runners

For your information: both the marathon and the half are sold out. These races will raise over 2 million dollars. Last time I checked that is more then the little golf outing, where the paper publishes what John Daily ate, drank, and smoked during his round of golf. So I will not give the paper a break. All we ask is a least publish a complete list of finishers. Every other city that has a marathon does and believe me when I say people (even the last person) will buy a paper with their name in it!

I like this column quite a bit, since it resonates with me: an older squash nut who plays a lot, has injury issues, and would much prefer downing some black-and-tans after work rather than denying himself.... I've got a blog about squash, btw, at TheSquashist.blogspot.com, and I'll be addressing some injury problems shortly. I also visit relatives down in Sewanee where not long ago they put in an international squash court. I consider that pretty much racquetball territory but there are a few decent players down there. Keep up the good work!

Donny Flowers is a player for all seasons and all surfaces! Better yet, he's a gentleman's gentleman: never a terse word or thought, and always lighting up the arena with that sparkling face and cheerio-smile! What a pleasure to know him and to share time with him, on or off the courts! He and Marty Pearson recently won the 2009 Alex Wellford tournament in Memphis, beating Keith Evans and his partner by driving them crazy with Donny's unstoppable style of play!! It was an upset of the first degree to anyone but those who know what it's like to face Donny Flowers when he wants to win!

A couple of things to consider here. It doesn't matter if it's the first point or the last point you call the line as best as you can. The mentality that it was match point and should have been ignored is just as ridiculas as saying that Clister's ball ,at match point, was just a little out but we should ignore it as the match was really over anyway! Keep in mind Serena already had another footfault called earlier and had broken a racquet. The main difference between Mac, Conners and Nasty was the personal THREAT by Serena. Sorry that blows it. Don't forget either that Mac was the first player defaulted from a match for his antics.
