Only in Tennessee do you get a legislature that believes there isn't enough poison in our streams, polution in our lungs, and guns on our streets. Faith-based government at its best, bringing on the end times because Jesus is notoriously slow about these things.

Listening to events in the Tennessee House and Senate can be a little like watching an episode of Dukes of Hazard. I was born here in Memphis, and I used to be proud to tell folks "where I'm from"... not anymore.

While I have lived elsewhere for most of my adult years, Memphis will always be home, especially violent and corrupt, at least when compared to your average river port. Tree lined, torporous, yet by twilight, taunt, twisted, downright flirtatious

Even so, I’ve always thought Tennessee as a whole as somewhat moderate, tepidly temperate like someone with a thirst, telescopic neighbors and local Campellite cousins.
