Thank you, it really hurts me to see what our elected officials put this city through on a regular bases. Its time we get someone who will truly work for whats best for the people here and not their own interests.

Bubbah, Let's not revise history. Term Limits came about through the efforts of the Charter Movement (see John Lunt), not because of Myron. This after a prolonged (court) fight on the term limit provision for the county commission and mayor. Term Limits was a constant desire at almost every public forum that the Charter Commission held. A true believer would not have served 18 years in office, and said, by the way, I am for term limits.

I dont think it would be safe to assume that such sweeping reforms could be accomplished by one man, especially when that man seems to be so steeped in the current system. I'm willing to give anyone a fair shake at the position, should it be made vacant. But a good election with public involvement biased on issues not color, followed by broad bipartisan efforts for change, including significant re-evaluation of our current city council, will be a good start for getting this city back on track.

Willy's feighned indignance at a comment never made to him comes off as a lie and stupid, he needs to leave post haste if that's how he's going to continue to talk.
I'd say that LAZY is what you are when you don't apply for federal aid for crime control in the city that was #1 for violent crime at the time he should have done it. Having the Police Chief sandbag stats and hide them in blanket charges and officers NOT writing up reports is no substitute. Lazy is not paying attention to the needs of your city as it slips into that position, not paying attention to it's non-sustainability and doing something, all our problems are like very broadcasted punches, you could see this coming ten years out, why didn't he see it all coming?
I'll tell you why, you can't take care of a city when you are totally focused on your own wallet.

Don't forget, Term Limits proposed by Lowery himself.
He's done more in his term than Willy's entire career, pro Memphis. Tom Carpenter is more status quo.
If Myron becomes mayor there will be a landslide of reform that will make Memphis move past it's current state of depopulating backwards stupidity and blinkered belligerent non-collaborative attitude.
You have to police public office MORE than the streets, or, not even the streets will be policed.
We've created a culture of ignorance, laziness, belligerence, graft and corruption on a scale only equalled in third world asia.
Memphis is not America.
The feds want to bulldoze it, they've routed the technological highway directly AROUND Memphis and it's pretty obvious by the path it takes that Memphis is being avoided. This city will die if reform doesn't happen.
Mark My Words.

I love Lowery's naked ambition, a poltico's politico. A charter commission member while on the city council. Possible mayor while on the city council. Possible candidate for city mayor while on the city council acting as city mayor. I think he's got the bases covered. Thank goodness for upcoming term limits.
