I have been car-free for several years, I have to go to the same places that any motor vehicle goes. This is why all main roads in Memphis should have 3 to 6 foot bike lanes, not to mention retail stores that fully accommodate us with restrooms, bike racks, water fountains, and a place to shower and clean up if we actually work there ---- Carfreememphis.org
I'm all for bike lanes and better pedestrian routes. I just wish there was more in this about reform over at MATA.

I can't think of a single road & sidewalk in Memphis that DOESN'T need to be re-done.

Improving the areas around schools and extended, in my opinion, would greatly help many of the area's problems: since so many school bus lines have been cut, it would be great for the children to have a safe means to participate in a healthy activity by riding to school.

Start with the N. Parkway to Downtown. That third lane could be a bike lane.
