      <![CDATA[Call me crazy, but I still think 'Enemy Mine' is the best sci-fi flick in the 'liberal morality play' genre. The characters are so much more vibrant and lifelike, and by the time the director gets around to delivering the message, you have enough of an emotional investment in the story arc that it doesn't present a distraction.

      <![CDATA[Yeah, I can certainly agree with that. The "wooo-oooh" sounds were a bit on the cheesy side, although there were parts of the score that redeemed it.<br>
<br>
I just wish some fully-grown adult had sat Cameron down and said, "Okay, look man, you've got the basics of a great idea here, but you're going to need to refine it a bit if you want to carry it through."

      <![CDATA[Having read the reviews, I went to Avatar expecting to see state of the art FX held together with just enough dialogue to explain the action, and I wasn't disappointed. <br>

  I found the score more disruptive than the good guys vs. bad guys space western script.

My only other point about critical acclaim and Oscar awards is Titanic beating out LA Confidential, As Good As It Gets, and the other movies nominated which were all head and shoulders above it that year.
