As to the comment about Chenault's, while we are talking about great food, Chenault's had the BEST fried chicken, always served with biscuits 'n' honey!

I remember this particular Pancho's quite well. We always had to pass it going North on Bellevue toward Chenault's restaurant on Bellevue near Parkway.

Vance, as you astutely noted, my mother could not aim a camera to save her life. That's why we have such a lovely shot of the ceiling in the interior picture!
Going to Pancho's was always a special event for my family.

I was taken there in the early '60s by my parents. The food was great ... or at least I thought so.

That's okay. I was probably drunk when I went in there, and it could well have been a Chinese restaurant.

That particular building, with its distinctive tile roof, originally opened as an Ohman Ranch House, and was then converted into a Mexican restaurant called El Chapo. As far as I know, it was never a Pancho's.

If I'm not mistaken, there was a Pancho's on Summer near Hollywood in the 60s.
