As I point out, based on the available facts, this story was overblown in initial media accounts (the sensational use of "kingpin," for instance), but while we can debate the level of seriousness, if anyone thinks there aren't real issues at play here relating to Randolph's off-court activities and associations, they are fooling themselves.

For nearly a decade, fans ignored or explained away problems with the Tiger basketball program under John Calipari.
