We could , can and should...but one problem is IMO alot of banks are stuck with alot of junk properties that they cannot move and have no desire to maintain renovate, manage or rent. So some banks look over their stock and cut some loose by leaving them in the name of the previous owner, or refusing to "take" back the property after it has been surrendered.

How many jobs have to be created and how hard taxpayers have to work in order to fill up the deep hole mortgage fraud has created for the society?

<![CDATA[The evils of bank foreclosure are reverberating throughout the socioeconomic scale. It's not bad enough banks engaged in predatory loan practices; now they're also engaging in predatory foreclosure practices, as evidenced by the virtual collapse of foreclosure activity in Florida because of fraudulent documentation being used by so-called "foreclosure mills."

One big problem is that the county has to wait three years before it can take the property, by then alot of these properties are pretty far gone and harder to sell at auction. What we need among other things is to lobby the legislature for setting a 30-45 day deadline for local registration of all property transactions and to reduce the 3 year seizure rule to 18 months.

For some reason, the city doesn't generally seize any property; it leaves that function to the county (city residents with outstanding taxes typically owe both the city and the county).
