      <![CDATA[Scott: not necessarily bad idea, just unlikely to get anywhere, based on recent history. Interesting that Louisville, one of our consolidation peer cities, has one (2.2 percent for residents, 1.45 percent for nonresidents).

      <![CDATA[Here's a thought: sell MLGW. Result: billions in instant revenue, budget "crisis" solved, huge surplus allowing for a roll-back of ridiculously high property taxes, and a competitive market for the purchase of utilities.
