It seems absurd to me that your comments, Jeff, have progressed from you having a (well founded) opinion that $32 is a lot for lunch, to the idea that this and other restaurants are destined to close because they don't listen to the complaints about their prices. It would seem that if you have the freedom to not visit an establishment based on prices, others have equal freedom to do just the opposite.

All that being said, I have eaten at Acre for lunch.

In some parts of the world, people who live on $2 a day would have to save for 16 days before they could eat a $32 lunch.
Ex: so I guess, by your standard, there is no such thing as a meal in a restaurant that is, in a phrase coined by a recent political wannabe, too damn high. I guess that also means you don't shop (read: compare prices) for anything, since whatever someone charges for their goods or services obviously makes them worth what they charge, and it makes no difference to you how much that is.

I guess you hate it that virtually every creditable restaurant rating service (Fodor, Zagat, and yes, even the much vaunted Michelin Guide) rates restaurants based, in part, on cost and value.
