      <![CDATA[I think this is a case where the category confuses things. Midsummer had no musical director, instead there's a conductor and a choral director (Stephen), and I think that's what the award was for, although I honestly don't know how the judges arrived at that distinction.

      <![CDATA[I meant to ask/post this earlier:  Curt Tucker was actually the Music Director for Midsummer (both as the conductor of the orchestra during the performances and instrumental (hahahaha) in teaching the music to the Voicestra and the cast), Stephen conducted one Sunday matinee. So that seems like a strange nomination or oversight, though I'm supremely happy for Stephen.

Specifically, the two gentlemen who played the Dromios in Comedy of Errors at UofM, Jon Castro and William Henry, should have been included as nominees for Best Supporting Actor.

      <![CDATA[Not quite sure what "straightforward" means in describing the Rhodes "Twelfth Night" (fair notice: I was involved with getting this show produced) -- I hope it means intelligent and well thought-through. I've spent the summer seeing some glorious drama in London and Stratford ... and a few less than glorious shows that were the product of allowing a director to impose themes or moments of spectacle at the expense of the plays.
