      <![CDATA[great way to spend the day. surprisingly "wild"  it's a shame more folks don't go enjoy the river.<br>
<br>
in summer, it's safe if you have the right gear, some experience, good decision making skills and a reliable group to be with.<br>
<br>
but if it's cold, please have the right gear.

      <![CDATA[..although as one whose one and only canoe trip (of 10 miles or so on the Tennessee Buffalo) began with a dousing, I know the word "float" doesn't really apply. Once you go in, if you're lucky enough to get back up and running, your senses are wide open and your muscles are ready for anything.
