      <![CDATA[I can't help but think this is like what the Nobel committee must have been thinking when it awarded the peace prize to President Obama, namely more as an incentive for him to act in a manner that would justify the award than as a pat on the back for some of his prior actions that were anything but peace-promoting. <br>
<br>
There's no question but that the city has made strides towards achieving bike-friendliness, and the Mayor should be congratulated for that, but the acid test remains what he  does about the proposed Madison Avenue bike lanes.
