Though I am still in the middle of research to definitively determine the best pizza in town, I can say without a doubt that Memphis Pizza Cafe is NOT the best, though they are good. As for delivery, I live about 10 minutes from a Garibaldi's Pizza, but they do not deliver to my area.

People used to say around here that best Italian cooking in Memphis was in people's homes. And that used to be true, all you had to do was find some women who still made their own spaghetti gravy, gnocchi, and ravioli.

The fact that Pete 'n Sam's wins as best Italian proves three things: first, as I said about TV anchors, old habits die hard; second, Memphis doesn't have any Italian restaurants, and third, Memphians' palates have been so compromised by BBQ and fried everything, they couldn't tell the difference between a decent Italian restaurant and a construction site food truck.

Speaking of something Memphis doesn't have, put a deli (at least not as that genre is understood, and exists, in the rest of the civilized world) in that category.

Oh, and I can't believe the ribs at Memphis' favorite tourist trap beat Interstate, or Germantown Commissary, or Paynes.

Chris - I see a lot of things that aren't in Midtown or Downtown. Huey's, Owen Brennan's, Corky's, TCBY, Yogurt Mountain, Muddy's, Gigi's, Gibson's, Krispy Kreme, Belmont Grill, Bogie's and Soul Fish (not just in Midtown), Flying Saucer (not just Downtown), Mellow Mushroom....
I could go on, but I'm tired of scrolling up and down the page to pick up examples.
