In response to: Lucy H., the world needs to start redistributing its wealth and means of ammassing it by adopting and practicing ethical methods of standard. Not just by stimulating the global economy but by applying compensatory taxes to the mega rich and by reevaluating its infrastructure and redesigning a more sustainable paradigm for the demands of overpopluation, which values the wellbeing of the earth and its inhabitants - us.

Its either pay the taxes or pay for shipping, which usually entails the use of resource materials from the earth that may or may not be biodegradable. I'd rather buy from local (non-chain) and have my sales tax used for the creation/preservation of state parks and other such infrastructure while not contributing to the environmental footprint or corporate domination of industry.

True, the folks who work at Starbucks are local, but some portion of the money you spend there (I have no idea what pecentage) goes back to their HQ in Seattle.

On the other hand, those peppermint lattes are crazy delicious.
